17 September 2008 - IMI gains membership of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Responsible business practice at IMI has led to the company being selected as a member of the 2008 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).

The index is based on a rigorous assessment process and admits only those businesses that achieve top 20% scores on demanding sustainability criteria.

IMI has focused its attention on four key responsible business priorities: health and safety; supporting customers’ responsible business priorities; supply chain risks; and energy efficiency opportunities, making significant progress in all these areas.

The success of this approach is such that IMI is one of only thirteen companies in the industrial engineering sector across the world to have been selected as a component of the index.

Further information about IMI’s attitude to business responsibility is available in the IMI plc annual report and on our website here.
